About Jacob Roberson
5th Year PhD Candidate, Organizational Behavior
USC Marshall School of Business
I examine the intersection of organizational messaging (e.g., leadership's diversity rhetoric) and employee identity (e.g., race, gender, political ideology, generational cohort). Specifically, I investigate the divergent workplace outcomes and personal experiences (e.g., leadership opportunities, perceived discrimination, or perceived deservingness) that emerge amongst employees from different backgrounds.
Research Interests
Primary: diversity, equity, & inclusion (DEI), identity & ideology, psychological entitlement, cultural narratives, discrimination & belonging
Secondary: generational differences, student athletes, sociology of sport
